About

Aaron Hu (He/Him) is a director of photography/ documentary filmmaker born in New Jersey. As a teenager, he was always drawn to films and the process in how they were made. Fascinated by Youtube videos on framing, composition, and lighting, eventually, he started to watch Youtube videos on cinematography, and started his journey into the world of film.

His narrative fim, “The Road Home” took the Best Student Short award at the 2024 Jersey Shore Film Festival.

His most recent cinematography work, "Color of God" directed by Mrugesh Thakor, was officially selected by the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, the New York Shorts International Film Festival, and the International Film Festival of South Asia in 2025.

Aaron graduated from Pratt Institute’s class of 2025 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Filmmaking.

After graudating from college, Aaron became a video production intern at Talbot Media, as well as at Red Summit Productions. Currently, Aaron is freelancing as a videographer in the Tri-state area.
